Physical Education is an important subject in offering pupils the chance to improve and maintain their physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing. It also provides the opportunity for pupils to enjoy sport and develop their skills in a variety of different activities. Our teachers aim to provide new and interesting ways to promote physical activity and enhance the physical literacy of our students. As a department we are committed to developing the skills and qualities of young people through sport and physical activity. This is reflected in the plethora of clubs offered in our extra-curricular programme.
Physical Education offers all students the opportunity to excel and progress in a variety of areas but also promotes reflection and evaluation. Our inclusive curriculum allows all pupils, irrespective of their ability or social background, to facilitate lifelong participation in Physical Activity as part of an informed, healthy lifestyle.
We are passionate that, through Physical Education, our students are confident, independent learners who can work effectively as individuals and, as part of a team. They are enthusiastic to try different activities and motivated to challenge themselves and display resilience.
